General Questions
Where are your products made?
All our duvets and pillows are made by German manufacturing partners. Made in Germany is not a marketing promise for us, but our daily quality standard.
Where does your down come from?
Our down comes exclusively from controlled sources and carries the DOWNPASS certificate. This means: no live-plucking, no stuffing mills, and full traceability throughout the entire supply chain.
How long does a down duvet last?
With proper care, a high-quality down duvet can last 10 years or more. Regular airing, occasional washing, and proper storage are essential. Our 100% cotton covers also protect the filling.
Do down duvets rustle?
Hardly ever. The noticeable rustling that some people associate with cheap products is usually caused by low-quality synthetic fibers or coated covers. Our fine cotton covers are pleasantly quiet.
Are your products suitable for children?
Yes. All our products are certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, meaning they have been independently tested for harmful substances. For babies in their first year, pediatricians recommend a baby sleeping bag instead of a duvet.
Allergies & Sensitive Skin
Can I use a down duvet if I have allergies?
Yes! Contrary to popular belief, down duvets with NOMITE certification are ideal for people with house dust allergies. The NOMITE seal confirms that the cover is woven so tightly that dust mites can hardly penetrate the filling. All our down products carry the NOMITE certificate.
I am allergic to down – what do you recommend?
In the rare case of a genuine down allergy, we recommend our Primaloft Bio duvets and pillows. They are completely vegan, offer very little surface area for allergens, and are machine washable at 60 °C.
Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification means that all materials – including dyes and auxiliaries – have been tested for harmful substances. Our products are expressly suitable for sensitive skin.
Care & Cleaning
Can I wash my down duvet at home?
Yes, our down duvets are machine washable at 60 °C. Use a mild detergent without fabric softener. Important: The duvet must be completely dry – ideally in the dryer on a low temperature with 3–4 tennis balls to fluff the down. You can find all the details in our care instructions.
How often should I wash my duvet?
We recommend once or twice a year. More frequent washing is unnecessary and can reduce the lifespan of the down. Daily airing is more important: lay the duvet by the window for 15–30 minutes in the morning.
Can I wash my pillow?
Yes. Our pillows are also washable at 60 °C. The same rule applies: dry completely, preferably in the dryer. Primaloft Bio pillows are particularly easy to care for and dry faster than down pillows.
What should I do if my down duvet clumps?
Clumping is usually caused by incomplete drying or improper washing. Put the duvet in the dryer on a low temperature with 3–4 tennis balls for 30–60 minutes. The balls fluff the down and distribute it evenly.
Products & Selection
What is the difference between 90% and 100% down?
90% down means 90% down and 10% feathers. The feathers give the duvet slightly more structure and volume. 100% down is even lighter and softer, but also higher quality and more expensive. Both qualities offer excellent sleep comfort.
What is the difference between down and Primaloft Bio?
Down is natural, featherlight, and highly breathable. Primaloft Bio is completely vegan, machine washable, and ideal for people with allergies. Both offer excellent sleep comfort – the choice depends on your personal preferences. Our materials page explains all the differences in detail.
Which size should I choose?
135 × 200 cm is the standard German size for single beds and is suitable for people up to 1.85 m tall. 155 × 220 cm offers more comfort for taller people from 1.85 m. 200 × 200 cm is ideal for couples sharing a duvet, while 240 × 220 cm is for those who like plenty of space. Find out more in our size guide.
How do summer, all-season, and winter duvets differ?
The difference lies in the amount of filling. Summer duvets have a thin layer of filling for a cooling effect (at room temperatures of around 22 °C). Winter duvets have a thick layer of filling for exceptional warmth (below 18 °C). All-season duvets fall somewhere in between and are suitable all year round for bedrooms kept at around 18–22 °C.
